On December 31 night, the Congress government issued a GO appointing C K Babu as chairman of Rayalaseema Development Board (RDB) -- equivalent to cabinet rank.
Sources said the chief minister is also learnt to have assured Babu that he would be given the party ticket in the 2009 assembly elections.
CK, who is considered to be one of the disciplined soldiers in the Rajasekhara Reddy's camp, escaped from the jaws of death twice in the recent times - on December 31, 2007 and during Ganga jatara in the middle of 2008. In fact, CK Babu has escaped bid on his life nine times!

CK BABU erupted like a volcano among goondas and rowdies of chittor town.people of chittor town used to suffer alot with notorious goondas and rowdies with thier atrocities against innocent people. people say that god came to chittor in the form of CK BABU ( JAYACHNDRA REDDY). CK eliminated most of the anti social elements of chittor. carze for CK among public satrted growing with every elimination of goondas and rowdies.
there are many settled tamilinas in chittor town . those people can put thier lifes for CK.Besides them he has got support of lower classes and middle class.his constituency also consists of some rural areas around chittor town where rich farmers and industrailists live. they all are are hard core fans of CK.CK has been close associate to YSR from chittor since the starting of CKs political career .
CK won his first election as a independent candidate with nearlly 30,000 votes majority.... which shows his power and cader.to CK's credit, he was the only Congress leader to win when the TDP made a clean sweep in 14 other constituencies in the 1994 elections.
unfortunately he got some allegations in a student murder before 2004 elections .so instead of contesting on congress ticket , he had to contest independently and lost with very less marging of 2 thousand votes.but people and youth of chittor still traet him as leader of chittor town.thatswhy opponents cant digest his popularity and fame and resorting to these kind of threat on his life.congress party and YSR have been holding CK from revenge attacks, otherwise which no opponent were have been on this earth.......................
